The colours represent a feeling of contentment and satisfaction and were chosen to symbolise the warmth and richness of life and its many facets, contrasting with the black lines through the work which signify that one is very rarely away from the prison like constraints of everyday life. This work was created at a time of deep emotional and spiritual fulfilment.
